WCJR & WCRA NOMINATIONS

WCRA is again providing the opportunity to for contestants to nominate JH State Finals results for the WCJR in Guthrie in July and HS State Finals results for the WCRA DY Top Hand Bonus.  Please see the link below for a contact for more questions and instructions to download the WCRA Youth Division App for more info and to register by the deadlines.

JUNIOR NFR NOMINATION OPPORTUNITY FOR BREAKAWAY & TIE DOWN

Webb Roping Productions is extending an opportunity to nominate the JH and HS Finals, as well as the optional jackpot.

BARREL AND POLE CONTESTANTS

If time permits between prepping JH cattle and JH check-in, a text will be sent out one hour in advance of allowing JH ONLY barrel and pole contestants to ride through the arena on their competition horse only. If it can be scheduled, contestants will be required to check-in at the alley and leave within a determined allotment of time.  This opportunity will only be offered if time permits on Thursday evening before check-in, as well as next week.

Please pay with check (LHSRA) or correct change.

Entry Fees - $60/event

Optional Jackpot - $50/event

($25 per each Long Round, payable in Rounds 1 and 2 only)


ADULT BOARD ELECTIONS

If you are interested in running for the LHSRA Board, please text Stephanie Rodrigue at 337-540-4623,

by noon this Thursday, May 22, 2025.

Both parents listed in the members NHSRA portal are eligible to vote. 

Elections will take place during the Finals and close after the Friday, May 30, 6:00pm performance.

 

STUDENT OFFICER ELECTIONS

Members currently in grades 9, 10, 11 are eligible to run for Student President,Vice-President and Secretary. 

Student candidates should text a one-page flyer

Special Notes on LHSRA Application:

Application includes LHSRA Scholarships, NHSRA State Merit Scholarships

and the two new Venture Global LNG $1000 Scholarships.

The LHSRA Scholarship Application and supporting documents are the same that are used for all Senior National Qualifiers to the NHSFR in Rock Springs. Once completed, seniors who qualify for the NHSFR will not have to complete a second application; they will only update the application. For LHSRA Scholarships, please disregard Submission and Foundation Awards Program information, NHSFR Back Number and Events, as that information cannot be completed until after our Finals. The Western and English Sales, Rodeo Historical Society and Ponies of the Americas questions are for National Qualifiers only.

Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 9:00am, Rodeo Office

No pre-registration necessary.

 

SENIOR NIGHT ~ FRIDAY, MAY 30, 5:00pm

Graduating Seniors will line up in the alley in alphabetical order on horseback at 4:30pm on Friday. 

Each senior will receive two roses for their parents.

Parents/families should line up along the perimeter of the arena wall at 4:30.

The photographer will take photos of each senior with parents and horse.

Following the senior introductions, scholarships will be awarded,

followed by introduction of the 2025 National Junior High Finals Rodeo Team.

MEMORIAL NIGHTS

6:00pm Performances on Saturday, May 24 & Friday, May 30, will memorialize family and friends who passed away since last year’s LHSRA Finals.  There will be a station during check-in to submit names to be included.

 

PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES

James Phifer, PRCA/NFR Photographer, will take individual portraits for all contestants during check-in. 

Please bring any props and any one whom you would like in the photos

Phifer will also take event and other groups after the Contestant Meetings.

The photo and video booths will be next to the Rodeo Office, down the hall from the Posting Boards.

 

LIVESTREAM VIDEO & STOCK RUNS

Jody Duggan will again serve as our Official Videographer and provide viewing of stock runs. 

The livestream of all performances will be available at no charge at

LHSRA reserves the right to be the exclusive provider of LHSRA/state promotional items,

 including clothing, caps, and all other promotional items.

Promotional items sold by Qualifying Rodeo Clubs may have the name of their club,

but nothing referencing LHSRA or Louisiana HIgh School Rodeo,

or anything that reflects a reference to the state-wide assocation. 

All club references are appropriate.
