· NHSRA requires that membership must be competed online and all documents both correctly completed and correctly uploaded into the member’s portal before entering a qualifying rodeo. There is no workaround to uploading documents.

· NHSRA requires that NHSRA dues be paid online.

· When completing the NHSRA membership info, use PARENT INFO for the Main/Mobile Phone and the Primary Email. Both texts and emails will be used to communicate important information from both NHSRA and LHSRA. Texts will be sent regularly through this system from both LHSRA and NHSRA.

· Do NOT opt out of text messaging, as that is a primary communication tool for both LHSRA and NHSRA.

· BOTH BIOLOGICAL PARENTS must sign all NHSRA and LHSRA documents. The only exceptions are a deceased parent, FULL Custody of one parent (NOT Domiciliary Custody), LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP or POWER OF ATTORNEY to act on matters involving rodeo, sports and/or extra-curricular activities. (Copies of the applicable document must be uploaded if both biological parents are not signing.) If there is only one signature, one of the following must be written on each line of every document that the second parent would sign: DECEASED, FULL CUSTODY, LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP, or POWER OF ATTORNEY.

· Please be very careful to assure that the new or renewing member’s info is entered or updated, all NHSRA and LHSRA documents are completed online, printed, signed, notarized when applicable, before uploading back into the member’s online account.

· The following are the NHSRA forms within the NHSRA Portal:

o NHSRA Membership Application

o NHSRA Minor’s Release (must be notarized)

§ BOTH documents noted above will auto-populate, after info is entered.

· The following are the LHSRA forms that are fillable PDF’s, so please complete the documents on your computer before printing, signing and notarizing those that require notification.

o Qualifying Rodeo Entry Form for Cowboys (must be notarized) or

o Qualifying Rodeo Entry Forms for Cowgirls (must be notarized)

§ Please note that Junior High Forms are to be used by Junior High Members and High School Forms are to be used by High School Members

o Social Media Policy / Raffle Agreement (must be notarized)

o Additional Documents that must be uploaded:

§ First year members ONLY: Copy of Birth Certificate

§ ALL members: Copy of 2026 Final Grades (report card or transcript) OR Current 2026-2027 Progress Report or Report Card

§ HOMESCHOOL Members ONLY: Copy of Louisiana Department of Education Home Study APPROVAL FORM (not the confirmation of application), current for date of membership enrollment and through May 31, 2027, for the qualifying season. July 31, 2027 for the National Finals. (See additional Home School info further below)

§ Any legal custody/guardianship documentation, as noted.

o DO NOT upload the Insurance Card provided in the Member Portal. That is made available electronically for member information and use.

(If qualifying for the National Junior High or High School Finals Rodeo,

the approval must be valid through July 31, 2027.)

Note that the majority of the schools/hybrid schools/home school programs in which LHSRA members enroll are NOT approved

by the Louisiana Department of Education.
